Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Horner, of Warrensburg, celebrated their 60th anniversary on Aug. 10 with a trip to Easter Island.
Lyle Horner and Teresa Riddle met in the bowling alley of the Student Union while students at Central Missouri State College, now known as the University of Central Missouri. They were married Aug. 10, 1963, in Springfield.
Mr. Horner graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia and Mrs. Horner graduated from Sweet Springs High School.
Both are retired, Mr. Horner from the Air Force and as a commercial pilot and Mrs. Horner as a homemaker. After his retirement from the Air Force, the couple returned to the Warrensburg area in 1987. They are members of Northside Christian Church.
The couple has two children, Daniel Horner, of Parkville, and the late Greg Horner; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The couple loved their celebration on Easter Island and have added Chile to the list of 73 countries that Mrs. Horner has traveled to.
