WARRENSBURG — The Warrensburg Fire Department reported crews responded to a residential structure fire the morning of Monday, Jan. 10, at 700 W. Market St.
Crews were dispatched at 6:11 a.m. and arrived on scene at 6:15 a.m. to find fire on the exterior and in the attic space.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control by 6:26 a.m.
The cause of the fire has been ruled unintentional and is believed to have started due to an electrical malfunction.
Last units cleared the scene at 8:12 a.m.
“Especially with the recent tragic residential fires in Philadelphia and New York City, please check your smoke alarms in your residence, “ the WFD stated in a press release. “If you need assistance with smoke alarms, please contact the Warrensburg Fire Department at 660-747-9136.”
No injuries were reported.
WFD was assisted on scene by the Warrensburg Police Department, Johnson County Ambulance District and Evergy.
