Posted

WARRENSBURG – Two Warrensburg residents have been arrested on child abuse and neglect charges.

Erik Aleister Castleman, 26, and Stacey Laura Louise-Castleman, 34, were taken into police custody in Warrensburg on multiple charges Saturday, Dec. 27.

Both face four felony charges of abuse or neglect of a child.

According to court files, the defendants allowed four children between the ages of one and eight to live in a cluttered home where human and animal waste were found to be spread throughout the space.

The records showed the children did not have access to a clean bathroom nor did they have a clean place to sleep. The four juveniles were also reported to each have untreated lice infestations and to have gone multiple days without bathing.

Erik Castleman and Stacey Castleman both filed not-guilty pleas at their initial Monday, Dec. 29 hearing and are each being held on a $10,000 bond. Their next court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, at the Johnson County Justice Center.
