WARRENSBURG – Last week, a residential garage and two vehicles were destroyed around 8 p.m. Sunday, March 10 during an overnight fire north of Warrensburg, according to the Johnson County Fire Protection District.
In an announcement posted on the fire district’s Facebook page after the incident, three district stations responded to the fire in the 200 block of Northwest 31 Road. The fire was contained to the attached garage of the residence and two vehicles, one inside the garage and one outside the structure. Firefighters were able to rescue one family pet from the structure, but another family pet was found deceased in the structure.
The cause of the fire was undetermined, but an electrical malfunction could not be ruled out.
