Route WW bridge reopens after replacement

Posted

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced this week that the Route WW bridge over Muddy Creek between state Route 23 and state Route 2 in Johnson County is now open.

The bridge had been closed since January for a bridge replacement. Motorists are now able to access the bridge.

In December, Jill Bruss, an Area Engineer for the Kansas City District that includes Johnson County, told the Star-Journal that bridges have a life span of about 50 years. She said the bridge over Muddy Creek had reached the end of its life span, which is why it was replaced.
