The Missouri State Fair has announced the first concert for the 2024 event.
The Foreigner Farewell Tour kicks off the State Fair Grandstand on opening night of the 2024 Missouri State Fair, Thursday, Aug. 8, with Maggie Rose.
Information from the Missouri State Fair states that with 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits, “Foreigner is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 80 million.”
After more than 40 years of producing and performing music, Foreigner continues to have “massive airplay” and continued Billboard Top 200 album success. The band is responsible for many of rock and roll’s enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way From Home” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
Foreigner began their Farewell Tour in July 2023. The goal is to get to all the cities that the band has played since its reformation in 2004, including the Missouri State Fair.
Acclaimed singer/songwriter Maggie Rose has shared her empowering new single, “Underestimate Me.” The “galvanizing anthem” is the launching pad for a new chapter in Maggie’s musical journey, and her first release with her new label partner, Big Loud.
Information from the Missouri State Fair states that Maggie has been “hailed for her passionate individualism and influences spanning rock, soul, Americana, folk and funk.” Her previous studio albums were embraced by the likes of Rolling Stone, which declared she’s a “star,” and NPR Music, which called her a “multi-genre powerhouse,” among others. A fixture of the Nashville community, she was recently elected Governor of the Recording Academy’s Nashville Chapter and has played the iconic Grand Ole Opry almost 100 times.
