HARRISONVILLE 一 Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler hosted her seventh annual Youth Leadership Summit on Oct. 14 at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.
More than 150 students from 33 participating high schools in Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District attended the event, including Crest Ridge, Leeton and Warrensburg.
At this event, these high school students have the unique opportunity to learn more about leadership and meet congress members.
Brian Smith, Mizzou head wrestling coach, and Miki Collier, pastor and entrepreneur, spoke about leadership to students along with Hartzler, followed by a question and answer forum with Hartzler.
The fifth-term lawmaker from Harrisonville previously taught family and consumer sciences in Lebanon and Belton and enjoys engaging with local students by hosting this annual event.
