Central Missouri women’s soccer struck in the 86th minute, giving the Jennies the go-ahead advantage in a 1-0 win over Drury on Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Lake Country Soccer Complex in Springfield.
The goal arrived from the foot of senior Mikayla Enrst, with an assist belonging to sophomore Alexandra Hofbauer. The shot was one of two the Jennies had on goal in the game. They outshot the Panthers 11-5.
Enrst paced UCM (2-0) with four shots, while sophomore Kylie Richardson was second in line with two.
Sophomore Morgan Campbell, who played 21 minutes off the bench, led Drury with two shots.
Drury (0-1-1) senior goalkeeper Katy Fitzler had one save in the 44th minute.
UCM senior goalkeeper Kristen Wright tallied one save in the 70th minute.
Drury was issued two yellow cards in the final 15 minutes of the match.
Central Missouri 1, Missouri S&T 0
Jennies soccer opened its season with a 1-0 win over Missouri S&T on Thursday, Aug. 27, at S&T Soccer Field in Rolla.
UCM took the go-ahead lead in the 16th minute through a goal from senior Ryann Clark.
The Jennies outshot the Miners 9-5, including 7-1 in shots on goal.
Ernst paced UCM with three shots, all on goal. Clark and Richardson both had two shots.
Junior Ella Kramer had two shots for Missouri S&T (1-1).
Wright had one save in the 29th minute for UCM.
Junior Catie Riddle posted six saves for Missouri S&T, four arriving in the first half.
There were six yellow cards issued in the match, split down the middle between both teams.
Central Missouri travels to Mankato, Minnesota to play Minnesota State at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4. It’ll wrap the trip against Southwest Minnesota State in Mankato at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6.
