JOHNSON COUNTY — Bringing in the new year, Johnson County Presiding Commissioner Troy Matthews celebrated his one-year anniversary since he stepped into the role. Taking over the vacant seat left by former commissioner Densil Allen Jr., Matthews officially got into office on Jan. 1, 2023. A year later, Matthews talked with the Star-Journal about getting used to the position, helping the county, and what he hopes to accomplish in his remaining three years.
