JCCHS updates demographic information of 2,687 total COVID-19 cases reported

JOHNSON COUNTY — Johnson County Community Health Services has released information in relation to the age and location of the confirmed positive cases of coronavirus in Johnson County as of Wednesday, Nov. 25.
JCCHS states that of the 2,687 confirmed positive cases in the county, 1,933 cases are considered recovered while 738 are still active.
The case count is an increase of 160 cases since Friday, Nov. 20. One hundred and five cases have been considered recovered since Nov. 20.
To be considered recovered, the Johnson County Task Force states a person who had tested positive must be seven days post-onset of symptoms and 72 hours fever free without the use of fever-reducing medication.
JCCHS states the total number of tests given is 26,747 and the PCR seven-day positivity rate is 16.5%.
The positivity rate is a decrease from last week’s 17.8%, but Johnson County remains in the extreme risk category based on Gov. Mike Parson’s recent COVID-19 guidelines.
Of the 2,687 total cases reported by JCCHS, 1,776 came from Warrensburg for a total of 66.1% of the total cases.
JCCHS states that 1,292, 72.7%, of the cases reported in Warrensburg were recovered while 484 were still active.
Of the remaining cases in the county, JCCHS states there were:
315 total cases (11.7% of cases in the county) reported in communities in the county with a population of 2,500 people or less, 226 were recovered (71.7% in that category) while 89 were still active;
310 total cases (11.5% of cases in the county) reported in Knob Noster, 220 were recovered (71% of cases in Knob Noster) while 90 were still active;
191 total cases (7.1% of cases in the county) reported in Holden, 131 were recovered (68.6% of cases in Holden) while 60 were still active;
95 total cases (3.5% of cases in the county) reported in Kingsville, 64 were recovered (67.4% of cases in Kingsville) while 31 were still active.
JCCHS also broke down the number of cases by age groups.
As of Nov. 25, of the 2,687 cases in the county, 613 of those cases had been reported from those ages 20 to 24.
The age group with the second most reported cases was the age group of 10 to 19 with 445 cases.
Case numbers for all age groups include:
62 from the age group of 0 to 9;
445 from the age group of 10 to 19;
613 from the age group of 20 to 24;
203 from the age group of 25 to 29;
164 from the age group of 30 to 34;
164 from the age group of 35 to 39;
143 from the age group of 40 to 44;
147 from the age group of 45 to 49;
154 from the age group of 50 to 54;
136 from the age group of 55 to 59;
115 from the age group of 60 to 64;
93 from the age group of 65 to 69;
71 from the age group of 70 to 74;
66 from the age group of 75 to 79; and
111 from the age group of 80 years of age and older.
