Holden woman in serious condition after truck hits buggy

Katie Kemp, 20, of Holden, sustained serious injuries, and Chris L. Kemp, 22, of Holden, sustained minor injuries at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred when a southbound 2011 Dodge Ram driven by Jacob L. Truex, 36, of Chilhowee, on Highway O struck the rear of a homemade Amish buggy driven by Chris Kemp.

The Kemps were exempt from mandatory seat belt usage. Chris Kemp was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Katie Kemp was transported by Life Flight to Research Medical Center.

Windsor women hurt in Johnson County accident

Samantha J. Smith, 34, of Windsor, sustained minor injuries at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Dodge Journey driven by Smith east on Highway 50 struck the rear of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Ralph F. Wheat, 76, of Holden, who was also driving east.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Smith was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by the Johnson County Ambulance District.

Holden teen hurt in Johnson County accident

A 17-year-old female from Holden received minor injuries at 12:09 p.m. Tuesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, she was driving a 2008 Ford Explorer west on U.S. Highway 50 when she traveled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a ditch, became airborne, crossed the median and struck another ditch.

She was wearing a seat belt and was transported by private conveyance to Western Missouri Medical Center.

Malta Bend teen hurt in Johnson County accident

A 17-year-old male from Malta Bend sustained minor injuries at 12:31 p.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, he was driving a 2004 Fiat south on Missouri Highway 13 when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and partially overturned.

He was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by private vehicle.

Warrensburg motorcyclist hurt in Johnson County mishap

Jennifer L. Zeikle, 40, of Warrensburg, sustained minor injuries at 1:52 p.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Zeikle was driving a 2014 Yamaha xv250 north on Missouri Highway 13 when a 2010 Mazda CX-9 driven by Mackenzie L. Getman, 19, of Higginsville, merged into the roundabout and sideswiped her. The motorcycle overturned, pinning the driver.

Zeikle was wearing a helmet and was transported by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center.
