Holden man arrested for DWI in Johnson County crash

Emily D. Denny, 29, and Isaac E. Denny, 25, both of Independence, suffered minor injuries at 5:34 p.m. Wednesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jeffrey A. Thorell, 39, of Holden, was driving a 2009 Nissan north on Route 131 when he crossed over the centerline and struck Isaac Danny’s southbound 2017 Subaru.

Everyone was wearing seat belts. Emily and Isaac were transported by private vehicle to Lee's Summit Medical Center.

Thorell was arrested for felony leaving the scene of an accident causing injury, driving with a revoked license - third or subsequent offense, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, no insurance - second offense, driving while intoxicated - persistent offender, felony resisting arrest, a registration violation and an equipment violation. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and released.
