Pedestrian sustains moderate injuries in Jan. 2 incident

A pedestrian is reported to have moderate injuries after an incident involving a vehicle on Jan. 2 at 731 Northwest 1501.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the incident occurred when Kathleen M. Smith, 60, of Holden, slipped and fell and a 1998 Dodge Truck driven by Keith B. Smith, 62, rolled backward onto Kathleen Smith’s leg.

Smith was transported to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence by ambulance.
