Christian Women’s Fellowship to host annual Rummage Sale

Posted

WARRENSBURG – The Christian Women’s Fellowship from Warrensburg’s First Christian Church will host its annual Rummage Sale from Aug. 6-8 and Aug. 14-15.

Starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, community members will have the opportunity to gather in the church’s basement at 421 N. Holden St. to shop clothing, furniture, appliances and more.

A tradition that started in 1911, the only time the organization didn’t hold the sale was during the quarantine phase of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Since its inception, the church’s rummage sale has raised funds to support the Grab N’ Go Lunch Program, the Food Center, the Angel Tree Project, Manna Harvest’s Nehemiah Feeding Program, the Warrensburg R-VI School District and more.

“We see many of the same people attend year-after-year and appreciate their support,” the CWF said in a press release. “The church basement is filled with shoes, dishes, books, home decor, seasonal decorations and so much more.”

Along with the traditional rummage sale items, the CWF will also host a bake sale, a produce sale and a plant sale to help raise money for the various local organizations and programs they fund in the community. On Aug. 7, 8, 14 and 15, the Men’s Work Crew will grill hamburgers and hotdogs for folks to purchase.

“There is something for everyone,” the CWF release said.

The Annual Christian Women’s Fellowship Rummage Sale will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 6, Aug. 7, and Aug. 14., and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 8 and Aug. 15.
