Posted

JOHNSON COUNTY ━ The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15 for Johnson County.

The NWS states total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected alongside winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

The NWS states portions of east-central and northeast Kansas and central, north-central and west-central Missouri are expected to be affected.

The NWS advises planning on slippery road conditions as areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous  conditions could also impact the morning and evening commute.
