The City of Warrensburg will be under Phase 1 of its Snow Emergency Plan between 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 and 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6.
Phase 1 calls for emergency snow routes and priority routes to be treated with sand and salt.
The City's social media post states roads were pretreated with salt brine.

Phase 1 occurs when snow accumulation of less than 2 inches or icing occurs. If snow accumulation is from 2 to 4 inches, phase 2 would be implemented and a snow emergency would be declared.
Johnson County and the entirety of the region is under a winter snow warning until 3 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6 .
Freezing rain arrived to Johnson County on Saturday afternoon.
Up to a tenth of an inch of ice is expected, with sleet and snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
On Sunday, sleet mixed with snow ie expected with daytime accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.
A wind of up to 20 to 24 mph is expected, with gusts as high as 37 miles per hour.
New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.With the precipitation, temperatures are expected to be in the teens with lows in single digits. Sub-zero wind chills are also expected.

Johnson County Missouri E-911 asks drivers to stay off the roads if possible.
According to a social media post from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A, personnel responded to 328 calls, including 135 crashes, between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday.
The Missouri Department of Transportation added much of the same in a release Saturday night.
“Drivers need to avoid traveling until conditions improve sometime on Monday,” said MoDOT Chief Safety and Operations Officer Becky Allmeroth. “For the remainder of this weekend, travel should be limited to emergencies only. These difficult conditions will also delay response times for our crews and emergency response partners.”
The Johnson County Emergency Management Agency reports warming shelters will be open to the public across the county.
