Warrensburg man charged for promoting child pornography

WARRENSBURG — Warrensburg resident Nicholas Cordiero was arrested Tuesday, July 26 for promoting and possessing child pornography. The investigation was conducted by Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Digital Investigative Unit and Missouri Digital Forensic Center. 

According to the news release, investigators contacted Cordiero at his place of employment on Tuesday, July 26. Upon arrival, investigators found child pornography on his cell phone as well as other computer equipment. Cordiero was then arrested and transported to Johnson County Jail.

The Johnson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office formally charged Cordiero with one count of promoting child pornography and four counts of possession of child pornography. Cordiero’s bond is set at $25,000. He remains in custody as he awaits a counsel status hearing on Aug. 3.
