Warrensburg Farmers’ Market season to close with Moonlight Market

Posted

WARRENSBURG — Warrensburg Main Street and the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market will wrap up the 2021 Farmers’ Market Season with its second Moonlight Market from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25.

Warrensburg Main Street and the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market’s second night market event of 2021 will feature many of the regular season vendors as well as pop-up artisans around the Johnson County Courthouse square, live music and food trucks.

Farmers’ market vendors will be selling farm raised meats, seasonal vegetables, microgreens, fresh baked goods, honey, eggs and a variety of artisan crafts.

A Warrensburg Main Street press release states the Moonlight Market was created to help the farmers’ market reach a different audience while bringing a family friendly event into downtown Warrensburg.

The first Moonlight Market helped kick off the 2021 Farmers’ Market season in April.

“The community showed up and really enjoyed the evening market. It brought a ton of new customers to our morning market and helped advocate this great local resource we have,” Warrensburg Main Street Events Coordinator Jamie DeBacker said.

Warrensburg Main Street stated the idea behind the Moonlight Market is to reach some of the night owls within the community rather than the early birds who already attend the regular season.

UCM Fashion & Merchandising will kick off the Moonlight Market with a fashion show down the courthouse sidewalk at 4:30 p.m. The organization will be utilizing local businesses in their fashion show.

Following the fashion show, Manda Shea & The Sumpthin Bros will be performing live from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Main Street encourages the community to bring chairs or blankets to enjoy the live music in downtown Warrensburg after shopping at the night market.

Ninja Truck, Tacos El Acra and L&L Concessions will also be present during the Moonlight Market.

“The Moonlight Market is the perfect free family friendly event to help say thank you to our 2021 Farmers’ Market Season vendors,” a Warrensburg Main Street press release states.

The Moonlight Market is put on by Warrensburg Main Street’s Promotion Committee. This committee’s purpose is to project a positive, unified image to identify downtown as a gathering place.

The regular Warrensburg Farmers’ Market season runs from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday from May to the end of September around the Johnson County Courthouse in downtown Warrensburg.

Warrensburg Main Street’s website features a full list of upcoming events and activities.
