Vossler recognized as Area 7 Star in Agriscience

CENTERVIEW — The Missouri FFA Association recognized Spencer Vossler of the Crest Ridge FFA Chapter as Area 7 Star in Agriscience at the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention. 

His parents are Jeff and Tiffany Vossler of Concordia. His advisor is Avery Deevers.

Area Stars in Agriscience are selected based upon outstanding achievement in agriscience as part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. 

Area 7 includes 25 chapters in the Central District.

MFA Inc., Columbia, sponsors the 16 area Star in Agriscience awards and the State Star in Agriscience Award.

Spencer Vossler’s SAE consists of bottle calf nutrition. He experimented whether Purnia LAND O LAKES Amplifier Max, Kent Milk Formula 1 or Earl Vet would be the best milk replacer based on nutritional value and price. In 30- and 60-day trials, he fed equal amounts of each milk replacers to the calves. He found that Kent Milk Formula 1 was the best milk replacer in nutritional value and price. 

Spencer Vossler currently serves as chapter sentinel. He won the area agriscience research animal systems proficiency award. 

After graduating high school, Spencer Vossler’s plans include attending University of Central Missouri to study pre-veterinary science. He said he plans to attend University of Missouri, Columbia, to study veterinary science.

The Missouri FFA has 25,662 members representing 351 chapters. The national organization has more than 760,000 members representing 8,739 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
