A Union Pacific train derailed near Montserrat on Friday, Oct. 17.
A social media post from Johnson County Central Dispatch indicates approximately 20 cars derailed.
The derailment closed rail crossings at U.S. Highway 50 and NE 801 Road, along with the 740 Block of U.S. Highway 50.
The derailment also impacted traffic along U.S. Highway 50 on Friday morning.
Due to the derailment, all Missouri River Runner routes through the area were canceled for Friday.
