WARRENSBURG — Warrensburg Main Street will host the third annual Downtown Wedding Walk from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 5 in Downtown Warrensburg.
Main Street invites fiances, family and friends to explore the local shops and services available, including the dress, tux, cake, food, flowers, invitations, photos, engraved memorabilia, bridal party gifts and other wedding essentials. There will also be restaurants that offer catering for the rehearsal dinner or reception, salons for hairstyling and makeup and barbershops for a haircut and shave.
The event is free. Registration is encouraged but not required. All those to-be-wed who reserve a spot will automatically receive a gift. The registration form can be found at warrensburgmainstreet.org under the forms tab for Wedding Walk.
Main Street said the Wedding Walk is an opportunity to explore some of the local businesses that can help plan the big day.
“Many times, we hear newly engaged couples making weekend plans to travel to the city for venue exploring, wedding dress shopping, etc,” Main Street said in a press release. “Our mission with this event is to showcase many available services right in the heart of Downtown Warrensburg.”
The Downtown Wedding Walk was created to highlight the services available in the area and cut the commute
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our local community and we have a lot of special unique wedding options locally,” Main Street said. “We have also invited selected outside vendors to join the wedding walk such as local DJs, day-of event planners, photographers and event spaces.”
Event-goers will also be able to learn about how to vote when a name changes and information on marriage licenses.
Warrensburg Main Street will also host some invited outside vendors who are not available downtown but local to Johnson County.
The wedding walk will be set up similar to an art walk but all of the vendors will be located inside. Check-in will be in the lower level of the Johnson County Courthouse. Attendees will receive a map with all of the participating locations and vendors. Participants are encouraged to visit every location to see what each vendor or business has to offer.
Entrees will be available at each vendor location for the Warrensburg Main Street raffle for a $50 gift card to the downtown business of your choice. A winner will be announced the Monday following the event through social media.
Attendees are asked to respect each business's protocols and limitations due COVID-19. Masks are encouraged by some businesses.
