Structures considered total loss in Kingsville fire

KINGSVILLE — Johnson County Fire Protection District #2 responded to the report of a fire involving multiple structures on Monday, April 12, in the 1800 block of NW Division Road, Kingsville.

JCFPD #2 Chief David Miller said crews arrived on scene at 3:30 p.m. to discover fully involved fires at two modular homes, one regular wooden framed structure involved and a barn shed being utilized as a garage becoming involved.

He said the two modular homes and the wooden structure were considered total losses while the barn was about half saved.

Miller said all of the structures were unoccupied and believed to be abandoned.

He said no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

Miller said the fire was under control at about 5 p.m. and all crews left the scene at about 7 p.m.

JCFPD #2 stations one, three and five responded to the incident. 

The stations received support from Johnson County Ambulance District as well as the Auxiliary.

Miller said the fire is believed to have started as a small brush fire that spread from structure to structure.
