Richner receives PEO STAR Scholarship

WARRENSBURG — Danielle Richner, a 2021 graduate of Warrensburg High school, was selected to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the Philanthropic Educational Organization Sisterhood. 

Richner was recommended by PEO Chapter KD of Warrensburg. 

Richner was involved in band, pep band, French club, drama club, musical theatre, stagecraft, scholar bowl and music contest. She was also involved with Girl Scouts and was a cross country manager. Richner volunteered in her church nursery, Peer tutoring and A+ Tutoring. She is a four-year recipient of the Warrensburg Schools Foundation academic achievement award.  

Richner will attend the University of Central Missouri in the fall to pursue a Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a minor in early childhood education. 

The PEO STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada in the next academic year. 

The competitive STAR Scholarship is for women who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.

Chapter KD has been a part of the Warrensburg community since it was organized in 1969.

Since PEO was founded in 1869, the nonprofit organization has helped more than 116,000 women pursue educational goals by providing more than $383 million in grants, scholarships, awards and loans.
