Tuesday evening, UCM hosted the Founder’s Day Birthday Bash at the quadrangle, which featured a reenactment of the night the location of the State Normal School No. 2 was awarded to Warrensburg. The festivities included musical performances, people dressed in 1871 fashions, birthday cake and fireworks. UCM is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2021. On April 26, 1871, the State Board of Regents approved Warrensburg as the site for the new State Normal School for the Second Normal District.
