Mid-Missouri Artists donate to Survival House

Posted

WARRENSBURG — Mid-Missouri Artists collected donations of children’s art supplies and cash, an annual project, to donate to Survival House.

Community members were able to leave donations in a collection box in the Warrensburg Community Center.

Prior to Christmas, a generous supply of art materials and a check for $100 were delivered to Survival.

Persons interested in becoming members of MMA are encouraged to come to the next MMA meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Warrensburg Community Center. The focus of the meeting will be on planning for 2022 activities and events.

Those present will select an Art Challenge for 2022. The 2021 Challenge was “Flowers.”

Leesha Dunkeson and Janet Bryan will present information about a February monoprint workshop they are offering at UCM.

Everyone is invited to participate in an Art Clinic by bringing something they have been working on or recently completed. Especially encouraged is asking for suggestions on a problem area in a work or in working with a specific medium.

The Feb. 24 program will consist of a Zoom demonstration by Golden “Acrylics A to Z.” The demonstration will begin at 6:30 p.m. Participants will be able to receive a goody bag of Golden products. For more information about how to participate, email rlimback@iland.net for the Zoom information.
