Posted

Dewayne Jackson, the owner of Jaeger Tire in Warrensburg, announced the sixth annual Holiday Parade will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 in downtown Warrensburg.

Jackson is the primary coordinator and works with local organizations such as the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce, Warrensburg Main Street, City of Warrensburg, Johnson County Courthouse, and Warrensburg Convention & Visitors Bureau to host this free community event.

The parade is scheduled to start in the parking lot of the University of Central Missouri Multipurpose Building, 500 S. Washington St. It will parade north on Holden Street, through the downtown area, and halt at Holden and Gay streets.

There will be music playing on the courthouse lawn, and Santa will be arriving by sled after the parade. Children can bring their letters for Santa, or write one following the parade, and drop them off in the special mailbox that evening. Letters with a return address will get a special note from the North Pole.

Parade entry applications can be found at www.warrensburg.org and www.warrensburgmainstreet.org. All entries are required to be illuminated. The deadline for entry submission is Nov. 25.
