Local board member earns three certifications in one year

Posted

WARRENSBURG — Gary Grigsby, a member of the Warrensburg R-VI Board of Education, has received advanced, master and distinguished certification recognition from the Missouri School Boards’ Association.

The programs established by MSBA recognize local school board members for pursuing additional learning opportunities beyond the legally required training.

In order to achieve distinguished certification, the highest level of certification offered by MSBA, a board member must have earned 60 credits, completed required annual refresher training, read a book on a topic related to school board service, attended two board meetings in other districts, attended two MSBA core meetings and participated in a variety of leadership, advocacy and presentation activities.

School board members receiving certification honors were recognized during MSBA’s Igniting Great Ideas Summit held in Springfield June 18-19.

The Missouri School Boards’ Association is a not-for-profit organization that exists to help school boards ensure all students succeed.
