JCFPD responds to May Day fire

WARRENSBURG — The Johnson County Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire at 1:17 p.m. Saturday, May 1, in the 200 block of Southwest Highway 13. 

Crews arrived on scene at 1:27 p.m. to a fully involved structure. 

The fire was under control at 1:46 p.m. and crews began overhaul. 

JCFPD Chief Larry Jennings said there was extensive fire damage to the north half of the structure. 

Jennings said the cause of the fire is being investigated by the Missouri State Fire Marshal and the Johnson County Fire Investigation Unit. 

Crews cleared the scene at 3:52 p.m.

Stations 1 and 10 responded to the scene. 

No injuries were reported.

Jennings said the fire was fairly standard and crews worked to minimize exposure to surrounding structures.
