JCCHS updates demographic information of 5,268 total COVID-19 cases reported

JOHNSON COUNTY — Johnson County Community Health Services has released information in relation to the age and location of the confirmed positive cases of coronavirus in Johnson County as of Monday, July 26.

According to the local COVID-19 dashboard, the county's death count is currently at 59.

JCCHS states that of the 5,268 confirmed positive cases in the county, 5,112 cases are considered recovered while 156 are still active.

To be considered recovered, the Johnson County Task Force states a person who has tested positive must be seven days post-onset of symptoms and 72 hours fever free without the use of fever-reducing medication.

JCCHS stated the total number of administered tests as of July 26 were 49,946 PCR tests and 38,889 Antigen tests.

The seven-day positivity rate for the county is 18.2% for PCR tests. The rate is 15.6% for all tests, including Antigen tests.

The state’s COVID-19 dashboard states 22.2% of Johnson County is fully vaccinated, 13,745 residents have received their first dose and 12,208 residents have completed their vaccine.

Of the 5,268 total cases reported by JCCHS, 3,158 came from Warrensburg for a total of 59.9% of the total cases. Of the positive cases, 2,639 were PCR tests and 519 were Antigen tests.

JCCHS states that 3,074, 97.3%, of the cases reported in Warrensburg were recovered while 84 were still active.

Of the remaining cases in the county, JCCHS states there were:

  • 689 total cases (13.1% of cases in the county; 571 positives from PCR tests and 118 positives from Antigen tests) reported in communities in the county with a population of 2,500 people or less, 667 were recovered (96.8% in that category) while 22 were still active;
  • 543 total cases (10.3% of cases in the county; 465 positives from PCR tests and 78 positives from Antigen tests) reported in Knob Noster, 519 were recovered (95.6% of cases in Knob Noster) while 24 were still active;
  • 588 total cases (11.2% of cases in the county; 410 positives from PCR tests and 178 positives from Antigen tests) reported in Holden, 568 were recovered (96.6% of cases in Holden) while 20 were still active; 
  • 290 total cases (5.5% of cases in the county; 226 positives from PCR tests and 64 positives from Antigen tests) reported in Kingsville, 284 were recovered (97.9% of cases in Kingsville) while six were still active.

JCCHS also broke down the number of cases by age groups.

As of July 26, of the 5,268 cases in the county, 991 of those cases had been reported from those ages 20 to 24.

The age group with the second most reported cases was the age group of 10 to 19 with 712 cases.

Case numbers for all age groups include:

  • 150 from the age group of 0 to 9;
  • 712 from the age group of 10 to 19;
  • 991 from the age group of 20 to 24;
  • 438 from the age group of 25 to 29;
  • 367 from the age group of 30 to 34;
  • 360 from the age group of 35 to 39;
  • 341 from the age group of 40 to 44;
  • 295 from the age group of 45 to 49; 
  • 312 from the age group of 50 to 54;
  • 314 from the age group of 55 to 59;
  • 267 from the age group of 60 to 64;
  • 207 from the age group of 65 to 69;
  • 151 from the age group of 70 to 74;
  • 128 from the age group of 75 to 79; and
  • 235 from the age group of 80 years of age and older.
