JCCHS updates demographic information of 4,894 total COVID-19 cases reported

JOHNSON COUNTY — Johnson County Community Health Services has released information in relation to the age and location of the confirmed positive cases of coronavirus in Johnson County as of Friday, June 11.

According to the local COVID-19 dashboard, the county's death count is currently at 56.

JCCHS states that of the 4,894 confirmed positive cases in the county, 4,878 cases are considered recovered while 16 are still active.

The case count is an increase of eight cases since Monday, June 7. Fourteen cases have been considered recovered since June 7.

To be considered recovered, the Johnson County Task Force states a person who has tested positive must be seven days post-onset of symptoms and 72 hours fever free without the use of fever-reducing medication.

JCCHS stated the total number of administered tests as of June 11 were 47,269 PCR tests and 35,335 Antigen tests.

The seven-day positivity rate for the county is 2.5% according to the State of Missouri.

The state’s dashboard states 19.9% of Johnson County is fully vaccinated, 12,235 residents have received their first dose and 10,749 residents have completed their vaccine.

Of the 4,894 total cases reported by JCCHS, 2,966 came from Warrensburg for a total of 60.6% of the total cases. Of the positive cases, 2,526 were PCR tests and 440 were Antigen tests.

JCCHS states that 2,954, 99.6%, of the cases reported in Warrensburg were recovered while 12 were still active.

Of the remaining cases in the county, JCCHS states there were:

  • 628 total cases (12.8% of cases in the county; 535 positives from PCR tests and 92 positives from Antigen tests) reported in communities in the county with a population of 2,500 people or less, 626 were recovered (99.7% in that category) while two were still active;
  • 493 total cases (10.1% of cases in the county; 437 positives from PCR tests and 56 positives from Antigen tests) reported in Knob Noster, 491 were recovered (98.6% of cases in Knob Noster) while two were still active;
  • 546 total cases (11.2% of cases in the county; 381 positives from PCR tests and 165 positives from Antigen tests) reported in Holden, 546 were recovered (100% of cases in Holden) while none were still active; 
  • 261 total cases (5.3% of cases in the county; 205 positives from PCR tests and 56 positives from Antigen tests) reported in Kingsville, 261 were recovered (100% of cases in Kingsville) while none were still active.

JCCHS also broke down the number of cases by age groups.

As of June 11, of the 4,894 cases in the county, 942 of those cases had been reported from those ages 20 to 24.

The age group with the second most reported cases was the age group of 10 to 19 with 671 cases.

Case numbers for all age groups include:

  • 135 from the age group of 0 to 9;
  • 671 from the age group of 10 to 19;
  • 942 from the age group of 20 to 24;
  • 398 from the age group of 25 to 29;
  • 325 from the age group of 30 to 34;
  • 325 from the age group of 35 to 39;
  • 296 from the age group of 40 to 44;
  • 281 from the age group of 45 to 49; 
  • 279 from the age group of 50 to 54;
  • 298 from the age group of 55 to 59;
  • 257 from the age group of 60 to 64;
  • 196 from the age group of 65 to 69;
  • 145 from the age group of 70 to 74;
  • 121 from the age group of 75 to 79; and
  • 225 from the age group of 80 years of age and older.
