JCCHS updates demographic information of 2,527 total COVID-19 cases reported

JOHNSON COUNTY — Johnson County Community Health Services has released information in relation to the age and location of the confirmed positive cases of coronavirus in Johnson County as of Friday, Nov. 20.

JCCHS states that of the 2,527 confirmed positive cases in the county, 1,828 cases are considered recovered while 683 are still active.

The case count is an increase of 278 cases since Friday, Nov. 13. One hundred and thirteen cases have been considered recovered since Nov. 13.

To be considered recovered, the Johnson County Task Force states a person who had tested positive must be seven days post-onset of symptoms and 72 hours fever free without the use of fever-reducing medication.

JCCHS states the total number of tests given is 25,766 and the PCR seven-day positivity rate is 17.8%.

Of the 2,527 total cases reported by JCCHS, 1,671 came from Warrensburg for a total of 66.1% of the total cases.

JCCHS states that 1,210, 72.4%, of the cases reported in Warrensburg were recovered while 461 were still active.

Of the remaining cases in the county, JCCHS states there were:

  • 294 total cases (11.6% of cases in the county) reported in communities in the county with a population of 2,500 people or less, 244 were recovered (83% in that category) while 57 were still active;

  • 291 total cases (11.5% of cases in the county) reported in Knob Noster, 201 were recovered (69.1% of cases in Knob Noster) while 90 were still active;

  • 184 total cases (7.3% of cases in the county) reported in Holden, 114 were recovered (62% of cases in Holden) while 70 were still active; 

  • 87 total cases (3.4% of cases in the county) reported in Kingsville, 59 were recovered (67.8% of cases in Kingsville) while 28 were still active.

JCCHS also broke down the number of cases by age groups.

As of Nov. 20, of the 2,527 cases in the county, 590 of those cases had been reported from those ages 20 to 24.

The age group with the second most reported cases was the age group of 10 to 19 with 419 cases.

Case numbers for all age groups include:

  • 55 from the age group of 0 to 9;

  • 419 from the age group of 10 to 19;

  • 590 from the age group of 20 to 24;

  • 191 from the age group of 25 to 29;

  • 156 from the age group of 30 to 34;

  • 157 from the age group of 35 to 39;

  • 134 from the age group of 40 to 44;

  • 136 from the age group of 45 to 49; 

  • 136 from the age group of 50 to 54;

  • 121 from the age group of 55 to 59;

  • 109 from the age group of 60 to 64;

  • 84 from the age group of 65 to 69;

  • 72 from the age group of 70 to 74;

  • 61 from the age group of 75 to 79; and

  • 106 from the age group of 80 years of age and older.
