Holden Schools Foundation awards fall Teacher Impact Grants

HOLDEN — Holden School Foundation Teacher Impact Grants were awarded to Holden School District staff members on Aug. 18. 

Seven grants were awarded to 10 teachers for a value of $5,741. 

For the 2020-2021 school year, 14 Teacher Impact Grants were awarded during fall and spring, for a total of $17,166.

A total of 104 grants have been awarded,  a value of $90,459.

Grants are funded through donations from community members, business and Holden staff members. 

Katie Michell, Eagles Nest Preschool, was awarded $898.50 for a light table to help develop and enhance sensory learning skills. 

Samantha Sodano, third grade, was awarded $350 for Learning Together: Growing Leaders Through STEM to purchase STEM bins with cards using inquiry-based learning. 

Dustin Orton, sixth grade social studies, was awarded $567 for a set of six wall maps on a roller with a backboard. 

Sharon Dolland and Tobi Chambers, grades six through 12 drama club, were awarded $1,281 for Dressing Up the Musical to purchase costumes and accessories. 

Amanda Orton, seventh grade science, was awarded $656 for Electrifying Learners to build electrical circuits and construct electromagnetic fishing poles.  

Mitti Manor and Kristi Miller, grades six through 12 special education, were awarded $1,331 for Eagle Grounds Coffee Cart for job experience running a business on a cart. 

Luke Littrell, grades nine through 12 Project Lead The Way, was awarded $655 for four Ryze Tello Drones with Programming.
