JOHNSON COUNTY — Filing began Tuesday, Dec. 10 for the April 8 Municipal Election.
Filing closes on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Operating hours vary by filing location. School districts will be closed for winter break.

There are two city council member positions to be elected for a three-year term.
As of Thursday, Dec. 12 incumbents Eddie Osborne and Bruce D. Uhler have filed.
Declarations will be accepted in the office of the City Clerk at Warrensburg City Hall, 102 S. Holden. Office hours are 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Offices are closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas.
There are two positions available with three-year terms for the Warrensburg R-VI School District Board of Education.
As of Thursday, Dec. 12, only incumbent Julie Lewis has filed for reelection.
Filing occurs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Warrensburg R-VI District Office, 201 S. Holden, with Secretary of the Board Jodi Norman.
During winter break, filing will be available from 8 a.m. to noon on Dec. 23 and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 31.
There is one position open for Ward I Alderman, Ward II Alderman, Ward III Alderman and Mayor. All are two-year terms.
There is also a one-year Ward III Term available. Christopher Dennis, who was appointed to Ward III in 2024, has filed for the one-year term.
Nobody had filed for any of the other positions as of late Tuesday.
Declarations will take place with the Knob Noster City Clerk, 201 North State Street.
Office hours for the City Clerk’s Office are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
There are two positions available with a three-year term for the Knob Noster Public Schools Board of Education.
Interested individuals may file at the Knob Noster Public Schools District Office located at 401 East Wimer.
Filing runs during the district’s regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. During Winter break, filing will be available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 31.
The city has a seat in each ward up for election. Each term of for two years.

Interested individuals should file in person with the Secretary of the Board. Filing runs 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. during normal business hours. The last day will be Dec. 31 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Kingsville R-1 School District has two positions open for its school board. Both are two-year terms.
Candidates may file from Dec. 10 through Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Dec. 16 through Dec. 19 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Dec. 20, 23, 27, and 30 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Dec. 31 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The City of Leeton has two Alderman at Large positions and one Mayor position available for election.
Interested individuals should apply in person during normal business hours at the City Clerk’s Office, 108 W. Summerfield.
The Leeton R-X School District has two three-year terms available for its Board of Education.
No candidates had filed as of late Tuesday.
Those interested may file at the Superintendent’s office at 500 North Main. Filing will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the exception of Christmas Break. The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 23 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 31.
The City of Chilhowee has two Alderman at Large positions available. Both are two-year terms.
