Filing opens for 2022 Municipal Election

JOHNSON COUNTY — Filing for county, municipal and school board elected positions open Tuesday, Dec. 7, and will close Dec. 28 for the Municipal Election, scheduled for April 5. 

Operating hours will vary by filing location and school districts will be closed for winter break.

The following positions will be available for filing. 

City of Warrensburg

Two seats, each a three-year term, for the Warrensburg City Council will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seats are currently occupied by Scott Holmberg and Nolan Brooks. Both are eligible for reelection. 

Candidates should file at City Hall, 102. S. Holden St. in Warrensburg.

Warrensburg School District

Two seats, each a three-year term, for the Warrensburg School Board of Education will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seats are currently occupied by Matt Sergent and Julie Lewis. Both are eligible for reelection. 

Candidates should file at the District Office, 201 S. Holden St. in Warrensburg. 

City of Centerview

Two seats for alderman at large and one seat for the position of mayor, each two-year term, for the City of Centerview Board of Aldermen will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg. 

The Centerview City Clerk will also accept filings by appointment. 

Crest Ridge School District

Two seats, each a three-year term, for the Crest Ridge School Board of Education will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seats are currently occupied by James Hoppenthaler and Tony Reynolds.

Candidates should file at the District Office, 92 N.W. Highway 58 in Centerview.

City of Chilhowee

Two seats for alderman at large and one seat for the position of mayor, each a two-year term, for the City of Chilhowee Board of Aldermen will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg. 

Chilhowee School District

Three seats, each a three-year term, for the Chilhowee School Board will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seats are currently occupied by Trina Anstine, Wendell Jackson and Whitney Brown. 

Ansine is eligible for reelection. Brown was appointed to the board in February. 

Candidates should file at the District Office, 101 S.W. Highway F in Chilhowee. 

City of Knob Noster

Three seats, each a two-year term, for Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 3 for the Knob Noster Board of Aldermen will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file with Knob Noster City Hall, 201 N. State St. in Knob Noster. 

Knob Noster School District

Two seats, each a three-year term, for the Knob Noster School Board of Education will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seats are currently occupied by Larry Bolten and Cliff Everts.

Candidates should file with the district office, 401 E. Wimer St. in Knob Noster. 

City of Kingsville

Candidates filing for elected positions within the City of Kingsville should file at the Kingsville City Hall, 103 N. Olive St. in Kingsville. 

Kingsville School District

Three seats, two three-year terms and one one-year term, for the Kingsville School Board of Education will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seats are currently occupied by Stephanie Smith, completing a two-year term; Lindsey Bush, completing a one-year term; and Tyler Ratajczyk, completing an appointed position. 

Candidates should file with the District Office, 101 E. Adriatic St. in Kingsville. 

City of Leeton

Two seats, each a two-year term, for the City of Leeton Board of Aldermen will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seats are currently occupied by Steve Binder and Barry Uptegrove. 

Candidates should file at Leeton City Hall, 108 W. Summerfield Ave. in Leeton. 

Leeton School District 

Two seats, each a three-year term, for the Leeton School Board of Education will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seats are currently occupied by Sandra Elwell and Brian Uptegrove. 

Candidates should file at the District Office, 500 N. Main St. in Leeton. 

City of Holden

One seat for each of the four wards, each a two-year term, for the Holden City Council will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The seat for Ward 1 is vacant. The seat for Ward 2 is occupied by Jeremy Knox. The seat for Ward 3 is occupied by Rusty Kephart. The seat for Ward 4 is occupied by Ray Briscoe. 

Candidates should file at Holden City Hall, 101 W. Third St. in Holden. 

Holden School District 

Two seats, each a three-year term, for the Holden School Board of Education will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file at the district office, 1612 S. Main St. in Holden. 

Johnson County Ambulance District

Two seats, a three-year term for Sub-District 2 and Sub-District 5, for the Johnson County Ambulance District will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg. 

Emergency Services Board 

Three seats, each a four-year term, for the Emergency Services Board will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

The positions are Trustee At Large, Trustee Eastern District and trustee Western District. 

Candidates should file at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg. 

Western Missouri Medical Center

One seat for a trustee, a five-year term, for Western Missouri Medical Center will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg. 

Fire Protection District #2

One seat for the position of director, a six-year term, for Johnson County Fire Protection District #2 will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg. 

Southeast Sewer District

One seat for the position of supervisor, a five-year term, for the Southeast Sewer District will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg. 

Blackwater Reorganized Common Sewer District

One seat for the position of trustee, a five-year term, for the Blackwater Reorganized Common Sewer District will be on the ballot for the municipal election. 

Candidates should file at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg.
