WARRENSBURG — Mayor Scott Holmberg and City Council appointed Danielle Dulin as the new city manager at the Monday, Sept. 13, City Council meeting in a closed session.

The City Council unanimously approved Dulin’s appointment, effective immediately.

Dulin joined the City of Warrensburg as the assistant city manager and director of Public Works in February of 2020.

Dulin was appointed interim city manager in December 2020 when Harold Stewart accepted the city manager position in Minot, North Dakota.

Dulin’s appointment comes at the conclusion of a nationwide search conducted for the city by GovHR USA, a Northbrook, Illinois based executive recruitment firm.

Dulin was chosen from a field of more than 45 applicants and followed an extensive interview process involving seven finalists.

“We are delighted to promote Danielle and have her lead our municipal organization,” Holmberg said. “Danielle brings strong experience and credentials to the position. She possesses the customer service approach and big-picture thinking our residents expect,”

Dulin has more than 10 years of municipal experience in the greater Kansas City area.

Prior to serving in Warrensburg, Dulin was the assistant to the city manager in Lenexa,

Kansas for more than five years.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Kansas State University and her master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas.

“I’m looking forward to continuing my work with the City Council, city employees and community partners,” Dulin said. “Warrensburg is a vibrant and growing community and I am excited to build on the progress we’ve made over the years.”
