Posted

WARRENSBURG — The Warrensburg Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Sept. 10 at the Rise Cafe with 16 members and guests present.

In recognition of Constitution Week, Sarah Poff, multimedia storyteller, assisted by her husband Alex, presented the program “We the People.”

Poff has taught art in public and private schools and enjoys creating art about historical subjects.

Poff presented interesting bits of information about the United States Constitution from historical times to the present.

Poff displayed a painting she created depicting many of her ancestors in colonial dress, with parts of the painting added to by her students.

Poff also displayed and discussed a sculpture she had entered in the DAR Heritage Contest.

The sculpture also includes figures representing her ancestors.

Chapter members were asked to bring adult-level activity puzzles, word games and adult coloring books and colored pencils to the October meeting in response to a letter from the Kansas City Veterans Association.
