MSHP responds to fatal crash May 23
One fatality is reported from a wreck May 23 on Highway 50 at Northwest 1601 Road.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 1999 Ford, driven by Dakota W. Warren, 21, of Kingsville, crossed the eastbound lane of Highway 50 and struck a 2017 Ford, driven by Kody A. Jones, 42, of Warrensburg. Both vehicles traveled off the south side of the highway, struck a stop sign and light pole.
Jones was declared dead at the scene by Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren.
Warren is reported to have serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
Both Warren and Jones are reported to have worn a safety device.
Both vehicles were determined to be a total loss.
Minor injuries reported in May 25 wreck
One person is reported to have minor injuries from a wreck May 25 on Northwest 1401 Road, south of Northwest 200 Road.
Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 1999 Ford, driven by an unnamed juvenile, traveled off the roadway, returned to the roadway and began to slide. The vehicle then traveled off the roadway a second time, overturned, and came to rest on its roof.
The juvenile is reported to have minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The juvenile is reported to have worn a safety device.
The vehicle is reported to have extensive damage.
Serious injuries reported in single-vehicle wreck May 27
One person is reported to have serious injuries from a single-vehicle wreck May 27 on Highway BB south of 101 Road.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2013 Toyota Avalon, driven by Michael V. Pavlicek, 45, of Warrensburg, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch and tree.
Pavlicek is reported to have serious injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by Johnson County Ambulance District.
Pavlicek is reported to have worn a safety device.
The Toyota is reported to be a total loss.
Minor injuries reported in single-vehicle wreck May 27
One person is reported to have minor injuries from a single-vehicle wreck May 27 on Highway 50 at State Route W.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2007 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Johnna DeWitt, 28, of Holden, hydroplaned and traveled off the left side of the roadway.
DeWitt is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center.
DeWitt is reported to have worn a safety device.
