Two serious injuries reported in June 11 wreck

Two people are reported to have serious injuries from a wreck June 11 on Highway 50, west of 601 Road .

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2009 Audi, driven by Shyann S. Cole, 24, travelled off the roadway and overturned, coming to rest in the median.

Occupant Madison M. Sparks, 19, and Cole are both reported to have serious injuries.

Sparks was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Hospital for treatment.

Cole was transported by air ambulance to Research Hospital for treatment.

Sparks and Cole are reported to have not worn a safety device.

The Audi is reported to be a total loss.

Minor injuries reported in June 11 wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a wreck June 11 on Highway 50 at Northeast 175 Road.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2006 Toyota Prius, driven by Toni A. Webb, 46, entered the median from the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 and struck an embankment at the crossover at Northeast 175 Road.

The Prius vaulted over the median crossover and overturned upon landing east of the crossover, where the vehicle came to rest.

Webb is reported to have minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

Webb is reported to have worn a safety device.

The Toyota is reported to be a total loss.

MSHP responds to fatal crash June 12

One fatality is reported from a wreck June 12 at the 400 block of Northwest Route H.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Ethan M. Matthews, 25, of Warrensburg, traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, crossed the left side of the roadway and overturned.

Matthews was declared dead at the scene by Johnson County Coroner Ben Minks.

Matthews is reported to have not worn a safety device.

The Chevrolet is determined to be a total loss.

Moderate injuries reported in June 13 wreck 

One person is reported to have moderate injuries from a single-vehicle wreck on the Rock Island Trail west of Southwest 151 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2017 Yamaha, driven by Kent L. Smith, 56, of Leeton, was westbound on the trail, struck a tree lying across the trail, overturned and ejected the driver. 

Smith is reported to have moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by Johnson County Ambulance District. 

The Yamaha is reported to be a total loss. 

Two injuries reported in June 13 wreck

One person is reported to have moderate injuries and one person is reported to have serious injuries from a wreck June 13 on Highway 13 north of Highway 50.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2021 Indian Touring Motorcycle, driven by Paul D. Anderson, 69, of Pekin, failed to observe a roundabout and ran off the right side of the roadway. The Indian returned to the roadway, struck a curb, overturned and ejected both occupants.

Paul Anderson is reported to have serious injuries and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center.

Occupant Virginia M. Anderson, 68, of Pekin, is reported to have moderate injuries and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

Paul Anderson and Virginia Anderson are both reported to have worn a safety device.

The Indian is reported to have moderate damage.

Minor, moderate injuries reported in June 17 wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries, one person is reported to have moderate injuries and one person is reported to have no injuries from a wreck June 17 on Highway 50 west of Route D.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2020 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Paul L. Alewine, 79, of Warsaw, attempted to cross Highway 50 and failed to yield to a 2010 Buick Enclave, driven by Gilbert Byekwasol, 49, of Kansas City. The Buick struck the side of the Hyundai.

Paul Alewine is reported to have moderate injuries and received treatment at Western Missouri Medical Center.

Occupant Sharon K. Alewine, 74, of Warsaw, is reported to have minor injuries and received treatment at Western Missouri Medical Center.

Byekwasol is reported to have no injuries.

Byekwasol and Sharon Alewine are reported to have worn a safety device.

Paul Alewine is reported to not have worn a safety device.

Both vehicles are reported to be a total loss.

Minor injuries reported in June 18 wreck

Three people are reported to have minor injuries in a wreck from June 18 on Highway 50 at Northeast 501 Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2012 Kia, driven by Kirsten C. Christensen, 23, of Sedalia, struck the rear of a 2008 Lincoln, driven by Richard D. Orr, 80, of Warrensburg.

Christensen, Richard Orr and occupant Sheryl K. Orr, 80, of Warrensburg, are all reported to have minor injuries and are seeking individual treatment.

Christensen, Richard Orr and Sheryl Orr are reported to have worn a safety device.

The Lincoln is reported to have minor damages.

The Kia is reported to be a total loss.

Three juveniles injured in June 22 wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries, one person is reported to have moderate injuries and one person is reported to have serious injuries from a wreck June 22 on Highway 50 at Southwest 1451 Road.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2004 Jeep, driven by an unnamed juvenile, traveled off the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on its top and ejecting an occupant.

The driver is reported to have minor injuries.

One juvenile occupant is reported to have moderate injuries.

One juvenile occupant is reported to have serious injuries.

All three juveniles were transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Children’s Mercy Hospital. 

Two juveniles are reported to have worn a safety device and one juvenile is reported to have not worn a safety device.

The Jeep is reported to be a total loss.

One injured in June 22 wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a wreck June 22 on Highway 50 at Northwest 1501 Road.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2017 Chevrolet, driven by Kim D. Lutz, 58, of Lone Jack, overtook and struck the rear of a 2013 Chevrolet, driven by Suzanne L. Williams, 38, of Odessa.

Williams is reported to have minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by a private vehicle.

Lutz and Williams are both reported to have worn a safety device.

Both vehicles are reported to be a total loss.

One injured in three-vehicle wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a wreck June 23 on Highway 50 at Route M.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2014 Dodge, driven by Haley L. Wollf, 20, of Warrensburg, struck the rear of a 2017 Jeep, driven by Inez M. Couch, 60, of Holden.

A 2014 GMC, driven by James W. Crowder, 79, of Leeton, was struck with debris from the collision of the Dodge and Jeep.

Wollf is reported to have minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

Wollf, Couch and Crowder are reported to have worn a safety device.

The Dodge is reported to have extensive damage.

The Jeep is reported to be a total loss.

The GMC is reported to have minor damage.

One injured in June 23 wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a wreck June 23 on Highway 13 at Veterans Road.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2010 Ford, driven by Owen J. Chambers, 19, of Warrensburg, turned into the path of a 2014 Ford, driven by Robbin L. Cole, 52, of Richmond. The 2014 Ford struck the 2010 Ford.

Cole is reported to have minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

Chambers and Cole are reported to have worn a safety device.

Both vehicles are reported to be a total loss.

Vehicle hydroplanes in June 25 wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a wreck June 25 on Highway 50, east of Highway 13.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2006 Toyota Solara, driven by Lily A Johnson, 21, of Overland Park, began hydroplaning and traveled off the roadway and through the media. The Toyota entered the westbound lanes of Highway 50 where it was struck by a 2006 Dodge Dakota, driven by Jose M. Marroquin, 68, of Sedalia. The Toyota traveled off the north side of the westbound lanes of Highway 50 where it began overturning, struck a fence and came to rest on its top. The Dodge was brought to a controlled rest on the shoulder of Highway 50.

Johnson is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center.

Johnson and Marroquin are reported to have worn a safety device.

The Dodge is reported to have moderate damage.

The Toyota is reported to be a total loss.

Minor injuries reported in June 28 wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a wreck June 28 on Highway 50 before 271st Road.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2014 Ford, driven by Malik Y. Robinson, 23, of Warrensburg, collided with the rear of another vehicle that drove away from the scene.

Robinson is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center.

Robinson is reported to have worn a safety device.

The Ford is reported to be a total loss.
