Kevin G. Pence, 46, of Grain Valley, suffered minor injuries at 9:40 a.m. Monday, June 10 in a Johnson County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, an unknown vehicle was eastbound on Route 2, crossed the centerline and struck Pence’s westbound Ford F-350. The unknown male driver left the scene.
Pence was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by private vehicle.
Two teens and a woman were injured and two adults were killed at 12:50 p.m. Monday, June 10 in a Johnson County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 16-year-old boy from Warrensburg was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado east on U.S. Highway 50 when he fell asleep. He traveled off the right side of the roadway, re-entered the roadway and crossed Business 50. His vehicle became airborne and impacted a northbound 2022 Acura RDX driven by Patricia Moffett, 83, of Overland Park, Kansas, which was stationary at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Business 50. Both vehicles traveled off the east side of the road and impacted a road sign.
The 16-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center with minor injuries.
Everyone in the Acura was wearing a seat belt. Two occupants, a 16-year-old female and 19-year-old Alexandria B. Moffett, both of Erie, Colorado, were taken by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with serious injuries. Patricia Moffett and another occupant, 55-year-old Derek B. Moffett, of Erie, Colorado, were pronounced dead at the scene by Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren.
The MSHP was assisted by the Warrensburg Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Johnson County Ambulance District.
