One injured in single-vehicle wreck Jan. 1

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a single-vehicle wreck Jan. 1 on West Bound Highway 50 at Highway Z. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2002 Ford, driven by Kaden A. Lamb, 18, of Lone Jack, struck ice on a bridge and traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. 

Lamb is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by Johnson County Emergency Services to Research Medical Center. 

The Ford is reported as totaled. 

Lamb is reported to have worn a safety device. 

Serious injuries reported in single-vehicle wreck Jan. 2

One person is reported to have serious injuries from a single-vehicle wreck Jan. 2 on Highway 50 west of Northwest 751 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2009 Kia Sedona, driven by Gene A. Tesmer, 65, of Knob Noster, was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 when Tesmer experienced a medical issue causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road and strike a tree. 

Tesmer is reported to have serious injuries. 

Tesmer was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to the University of Kansas Medical Center. 

Tesmer is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Kia is reported as totaled.
