The Missouri Department of Transportation continues to urge the public to remain off the road on Monday as crews battle the winter weather and its impacts.
Wind gusts are expected to continue into Monday, Jan. 6, blowing snow onto the roadway.
“Motorists in the areas of snow and ice accumulation cannot let their guards down once this precipitation ends,” said MoDOT Chief Safety and Operations Officer Becky Allmeroth. “It’s going to take our crews most of Monday to get major routes in these impacted areas back to good condition, so we need people to continue to avoid traveling.”
The combination of weather and road conditions have led to closures across the Johnson County on Monday.
All City of Warrensburg facilities will be closed. The impact includes City Hall, the Warrensburg Police Department and Warrensburg Community Center.
All Johnson County Offices, including the Johnson County Courthouse, South Annex, and Extension Office will be closed.
All Warrensburg R-VI School District buildings and offices will be closed.
The University of Central Missouri Campus will be closed Monday, Jan. 6. Many campus facilities were already operating with an adjusted schedule due to winter break until Jan. 12.
Western Missouri Medical Center has closed all WMMC clinics, including Warrensburg Express Care. The emergency department remains open 24/7.
The Johnson County Community Health Center will be closed.
Whiteman Air Force Base is operating under mission essential through at least Monday. The next update is expected Monday morning.
Knob Noster City Hall will be closed.
Leeton R-X’s Monday Club, Boys and Girl Club and the Leeton Early Childhood Center will be closed.
The Crest Ridge School District will not have its scheduled PD day for staff, and all before and after school care has been canceled.
The Holden School District’s Day Plus care will be closed.
Holden City Hall will be closed.
Warrensburg Star-Journal offices will also be closed to the public. Business will be available through phone calling 660-747-8123.
