Warrensburg area police reports for April 7

Laneisha M. Mitchell, 19, was arrested March 10 in the 100 block of Hunt Street for stealing, shoplifting and second-degree burglary after officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Cooper Boulevard in reference to a past theft. Asset protection informed officers that on March 5, a known female was seen passing all points of sale without rendering payment for her items. The investigation is ongoing.

​Michael C. McKiernan, 44, was arrested March 10 for driving while revoked in the 300 block of East Cooper Boulevard after officers were dispatched to a careless and imprudent driver. Upon arrival, officers located a truck in the middle of the roadway and the driver asleep behind the wheel. Officers made contact with the male, who was subsequently arrested for driving while his license was suspended.  He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released to the Missouri Highway Patrol for a DWI investigation.

​Robert J. Romero, 68, was arrested March 11 in the area of Corporate Drive and Devasher Road for improper registration and driving while revoked after officers conducted a traffic stop for expired registration. Officers determined the driver was driving while revoked. He was arrested, transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with citations.

​Timothy L. Peck, 36, was arrested March 12 in the 1000 block of South Maguire Street for driving while evicted, no proof of financial responsibility and improper registration after officers conducted a vehicle stop on a vehicle for expired plates. Officers discovered the driver was driving while revoked. He was arrested, transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with a signed city summons.

​Elbert L. Newman, 36, was arrested March 13 in the 300 block of East Cooper Boulevard for shoplifting after officers were dispatched in reference to theft. Asset protection reported a known male was seen on camera skip scanning several items while using a self-checkout lane. After reviewing the footage, officers arrested the male for stealing. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released with a signed city summons.​

Brandon M. Goodwin, 40, was arrested March 14 in the area of Ninth Street and Vest Drive for second-degree sexual abuse after officers were dispatched in reference to a sexual assault. Officers made contact with a known male, who was arrested , transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.

Martin Luchterhandt, 46, was arrested March 14 in the 400 block of North Holden Street for 4th Degree assault, resisting arrest for a felony and unlawful use of a weapon after officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Maguire Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers made contact with a male in a red SUV who was discovered to have assaulted another male by brandishing a weapon. He was arrested, transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.​

Frank G. Whitaker, 40, was arrested March 15 in the 300 block of NE 50 Highway for second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and DWI after officers were dispatched to a vehicle driving the wrong way on 50 Highway. Officers conducted a traffic stop, where they discovered the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released pending state charges.
