Warrensburg area police reports for April 21

Douglas D. Sherwood, 33, was arrested March 23 in the 400 block of Burkarth Road for assault on an officer after  officers responded in reference to trespassing. Hospital staff reported a known male was refusing to leave after being medically discharged.  Officers made contact with the male, who became irate and assaulted an officer. He was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released with a signed city summons.

Brendon C. Lewis, 20, was arrested March 24 in the 200 block of West Gay Street for driving while suspended/revoked and failure to drive in a single lane after officers conducted a traffic stop for failing to maintain a lane. Officers discovered the driver was driving while suspended and had active warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail, where he was placed in lieu of bond.

​Kyndel N. Martin, 19, was arrested March 24 for shoplifting in the 300 block of Cooper Boulevard after officers were dispatched in reference to a theft. Asset protection reported a known female passed all points of sale without rendering payment. After reviewing camera footage, officers arrested the female for shoplifting. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.  ​

Crystal S. Trammel, 43, was arrested March 25 for trespassing in the 200 block of East Cooper Boulevard after officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Cooper Boulevard for trespassing. Asset protection reported a known female subject who had previously been trespassed was found on the property. The trespass was confirmed to be active. She was arrested, booked and released on scene with a signed city summons.​

James A. Torrey, 39, was arrested March 25 in the 300 block of East North Street for violating an order of protection after officers were dispatched to a protection order violation. Officers located a male sitting on the porch of a residence where he was not allowed to be. The male was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released pending state charges.

​Toby H. Parker, 25, was arrested March 25 in the 300 block of East Cooper Boulevard for shoplifting after officers were dispatched in reference to theft. Asset protection reported a known male passed all points of sale without rendering payment. After reviewing camera footage, he was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.​

Kerri L. Mitchell, 39, was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and stealing in the 300 block of North Maguire Street after officers responded in reference to trespassing. A business reported a known female subject who had previously been trespassed had been inside the establishment. It was also reported that she had stolen a soda from the fountain. Officers made contact, and she was arrested for shoplifting. After a routine search, officers located controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.  The suspected controlled substance was sent to a lab for further testing.

​Hali K. Jackson, 36, was arrested March 26 in the 600 block of East Russell Avenue for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance  after officers were dispatched in reference to fraudulent activity. A business reported that a known female subject reserved a room  with a different person’s credited points without permission. The female was arrested for numerous charges and an active Independence warrant. She was transported to the Johnson County Jail, where she was placed in lieu of bond.

Kelly C. Overstreet, 56, was arrested March 27 in the 400 block of  East Young Street for obstruction after officers conducted a traffic stop for following too close. The male driver failed to comply with the officers' commands and was arrested. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with a city summons.

​Joshua M. Bradley, 44, was arrested March 27 in the 400 block of Jackson Court Apartment C for third-degree domestic assault after officers were dispatched in reference to a disturbance.  Officers made contact with the female, who reported a known male assaulted her by throwing a vape at her, kicking her and hitting her in the head with a closed fist.  He was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold.

Weldon A. Vanderen, 54, was arrested March 29 in the 300 block of East Young Street for careless and imprudent driving after officers were dispatched in reference to a disturbance. Officers made contact with a male driver, who was determined to have an altercation with another vehicle. The initial male driver was cited for careless and imprudent driving and improperly displayed plates.

Gregg Porter,  71, was arrested March 29 in the 300 block of East Cooper Boulevard for stealing after officers were dispatched in reference to theft. Asset protection reported a known male passed all points of sale without rendering payment. After reviewing camera footage, the male was arrested for shoplifting. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.
