A Sedalia man faces three counts of possession of child pornography charges following an investigation by the Western Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Warrensburg Police Department.
According to WPD, George Fury, 23, was arrested on Aug. 27 in the 400 block of Jackson Street.
According to court documents, the arrest stems from an investigation that opened Jan. 10, 2025 after the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip that alleges an account associated with Fury’s email address shared three videos and one image containing child abuse content over the social media platform Kik.
The ICAC contacted WPD on Feb. 27, 2025. Court documents indicate WPD received a second tip through the Internet Crimes Against Children task force on March 26 that alleges someone using an Snapchat account affiliated with Fury’s phone number to share one image containing sexual abuse material.
Law enforcement served search warrants to both social media platforms, as well as an internet service company with an IP address affiliated with Fury’s Warrensburg residence.
Fury is being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $75,000 cash bond. He was arraigned and entered a not guilty plea on Aug. 29. He appeared in court for a case review on Sept. 3, and is scheduled to appear again for a preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. Oct. 1.
