The Love What’s Local Committee invites the Warrensburg community to roll up their sleeves and take part in Fall Clean the Burg, happening Thursday, Sept. 17 through Thursday, Sept. 24.
This week-long community cleanup encourages volunteerism, community pride, and collaboration while giving Warrensburg a fresh start as we head into the fall season. Residents, families, community groups, businesses, churches, and students looking to complete service hours are all encouraged to participate.
There are plenty of ways to get involved throughout the week. While Love What’s Local will not be assigning specific projects, we have two special group clean-up sessions planned that we would love for you to join! The first will be at 4 p.m. Sept. 17, when volunteers will meet at Cave Hollow Park, 1001 W. Gay St., to walk the park trails and pick up trash. The second will be on at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, when volunteers will meet at the UCM Soccer Complex, 600 E. Hale Lake Rd., to walk a portion of the Spirit Trail and pick up trash.
Community members interested in joining one of the organized clean-up sessions are encouraged to sign up through our website at lwlwarrensburg.com.
Can’t make one of the group clean-ups? You can still participate! We encourage individuals and organizations to choose an area that could use some attention and organize their own clean-up anytime during the week. Participants are responsible for properly disposing of all trash and other items collected during their project.
Share photos of your clean-up efforts on social media using #CleanTheBurg and tag Love What’s Local Warrensburg so we can celebrate and share the impact our community is making together.
Fall Clean the Burg is an opportunity for everyone to play a part in caring for Warrensburg and showing pride in the community we call home. Together, let’s make Warrensburg a cleaner, brighter place this fall and show how much we Love What’s Local.
