Honoring a hero: Compatriot Bruce McNeel recognized for Vietnam valor

Posted

The Martin Warren Chapter recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Compatriot Bruce McNeel for his gripping presentation on his experiences during the Vietnam War.

McNeel captivated members with his first-hand account as a Cobra helicopter pilot during the infamous battle for Hill 937, widely known as "Hamburger Hill." While providing critical air support during the intense conflict, McNeel miraculously survived his helicopter being struck by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG).

For his extraordinary courage, skill, and valor in the face of enemy fire, McNeel was awarded the Purple Heart, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Medal for Valor with an Oak Leaf Cluster.

The Martin Warren Chapter extends its deepest gratitude to Compatriot McNeel for sharing his historic journey and is profoundly honored to count such a distinguished veteran among its members.
